The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking proposals to provide student growth measures for use in Institutional Accountability determinations pursuant to the Commissioner’s Regulations §100.18 and 100.19 and State-provided growth scores for teachers, principals, schools, and districts pursuant to New York State Education Law §3012-c and § 3012-d; and to co-lead a process to review and redesign existing student growth methodologies based on recommendations from the New York State Student Growth Model workgroup, NYSED, and the Board of Regents.

Public Comment - Transferability of Non-administrative State Funds

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) will exercise its transfer authority within Section 6123 Transferability of Funds, to move not more than 50 percent of the non-administrative state funds from Title IV – B 21st Century to its allotment under Title I. Interested parties can submit comments regarding this request to NYSEDP12@nysed.gov by May 25, 2016. Please enter Transferability of Non-administrative State Funds in the email’s subject line.

Funding Opportunity: Network Training Center

The Office of Special Education of the New York State Education Department (NYSED) seeks to establish a Network Training Center (NTC) to provide professional development and evaluation of the State’s Regional Special Education Technical Assistance Support Centers (RSE-TASC). The RSE-TASCs form a comprehensive and coordinated system of technical assistance and school improvement resources that directly assist school districts to improve results for students with disabilities.

Updated Request for Qualifications: Qualifications for Independent Receivers

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) has announced an updated Request for Qualifications (RFQ), titled: Qualifications for Independent Receivers. This RFQ will generate a list of Approved Independent Receivers for Persistently Struggling Schools. To be considered for receivership appointments for the 2016-2017 school year, it is encouraged that applications for approval for the list be received by the Department no later than May 20, 2016.
